Hummus

Dip

This recipe is quick, tastes great and is considerably lower in fat than traditional hummus. Serve with colorful vegetables cut into your child's favorite shapes.

4 servings

Ingredients:

1 (15oz. can) Garbanzo beans, (reserve liquid)
1/4 Teaspoon Garlic powder
1 Teaspoon Cumin, ground
1 Tablespoon Olive oil, extra virgin
2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice, fresh squeezed
1/4 Teaspoon Sea salt

Method:

  • Saving the liquid, drain beans.
  • In blender or food processor, combine beans, garlic powder, cumin, olive oil, lemon juice and salt. Blend on low speed. Gradually add reserved bean liquid until dip reaches desired consistency.

Options:
This dip is great served with vegetable sticks, string beans, asparagus tips, crackers, bagel, tortilla chips or pita chips.

  • Cumin, ground
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 fresh lemon
